Introducing AMQA

In September 2006, after the subject of forming an association of machine quilting professionals was discussed at Queensland gatherings of machine quilters a steering committee was formed for that very purpose.

The steering committee comprising people from a number of States worked diligently to oversee the Incorporation of AMQA as a legal entity and the inaugural Annual General Meeting was held early 2007.

AMQA now boasts a membership of over 60 and is growing.

AMQA has an overall philosophy to encourage high standards of behaviour and those who choose to become members of the association should be prepared to aim for standards of excellence and provide services which meet the expectations of the client. All members of AMQA Inc are required to formally accept the AMQA Principles of Membership and to ensure their activities reflect a professional image of the industry to the wider community.
